📖 Mini French Puff Pastry Pear Tarts

Mini French Puff Pastry Pear Tarts are easy and prepared in 20 minutes! A buttery & flaky crust topped with your favourite jam & juicy pears.

Ingredients

  • 2 rolls puff pastry, frozen and thawed out
  • 6 pears
  • ½ cup jam of your choice
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Thaw out the puff pastry as directed on the box, typically, 2 hours at room temperature.
  • Pre-heat the oven at 400F.
  • Unroll the 2 puff pastry doughs and cut into third part length wise and in half width wise.
  • Spread a teaspoon worth of your favorite jam on each puff pastry squares/rectangles.
  • Thinly slice the pears and place them on top of the jam.
  • In a small ramekin, combine egg yolk with a teaspoon of water and with a baking brush, brush the edges of the crust.
  • Sprinkle some sugar on the egg wash to add a little caramelization. (optional)
  • Bake it in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Enjoy warm or cold!

Notes

  • Use Barlett, Bosc or Anjou pears.
  • Store baked tarts in an air-tight container up to 3-4 days. 
  • Make the same recipe with apples!
