French Savoury Cake

This French Savoury Cake is a delicious, airy, and versatile treat that's incredibly easy to prepare. It's packed with grated cheese and ham, making it perfect for snacking, as a side dish, or paired with appetizers, soup, or salad.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 cup purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup ham diced
  • 1 cup grated cheese your favourite one, I used Romano here
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
  • 1 pinch fresh pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven at 400F.
  • In a bowl, mix the eggs and olive oil.
  • Gradually, add the baking powder and the flour. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Pour the milk and mix some more.
  • Add the ham and cheese. Mix.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour in a greased loaf pan and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
  • Serve hot or cooled. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make it vegetarian by omitting the ham. Make it 2 or 3 cheeses for example.
  • Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 72 hours. 
  • Great for picnic, potlucks, lunch, appetizers.
